Joachim Behar

Joachim Behar is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Data and Decision Sciences at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, where they also serve as Director of the Technion-Rambam Initiative in Medical AI. As the head of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab, Joachim's work focuses on machine learning applications in medicine, particularly regarding unstructured data analysis. With a background that includes co-founding SmartCare Analytics and SleepAI, they have significantly contributed to the field of medical AI. Previously, Joachim obtained their Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and was a postdoctoral fellow before progressing to faculty roles at Technion. They are also an IEEE Senior Member and a scientific advisor within the industry.
