Yael Alef

Yael Alef, PhD, is an architectural conservator and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Yael has held the position of Architectural Conservator at the Israel Antiquities Authority from 1994 to 2025 and was a Lecturer at Bar Ilan University from 2010 to 2020. Additionally, Yael contributed as a Research Associate at the Getty Conservation Institute in 2000 and recently served as a Guest Scholar at the J. Paul Getty Trust in 2023. Yael's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Heritage Conservation from Bar-Ilan University, an MA in the Conservation of Monuments and Sites from KU Leuven, and a B.Sc.T.E in Architectural Design from the Holon Institute of Technology.
