Joaquin Ramirez Cisneros

Joaquin Ramirez Cisneros has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. In 1995, they served as the Director Técnico at Cormo until 1997. Joaquin then founded Tecnosylva in 1997. Later, in 2010, they became the President of ALETIC Asociación Leonesa de empresas TIC until 2013. Joaquin also served as President of AEI en Ciberseguridad y Tecnologías Avanzadas from 2010 to 2014. Joaquin was a Visiting Scholar at San Diego State University in 2011. From 2012, they worked as the Coordinator of MsC Wildfires at University of Leon. Joaquin founded Technosylva, a consultancy firm, in 2013, where they developed geotools for wildfire agencies, electric utilities, and communities. In 2013, they were a Visiting Research Scholar at UC San Diego - Qualcomm Institute. Currently, they serve as the President of the International Association of Wildland Fire, a position they have held since 2022. Moreover, they have been a Professor in the Department of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences at Universidad de León since 1998, where they also coordinate the Master Oficial Interuniversitario de Incendios Forestales program in collaboration with the University of Lleida and Córdoba.

Joaquin Ramirez Cisneros has an extensive education history in the field of forestry and geography. Joaquin first attended the Universidad Politénica de Madrid from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Forestry Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Forestry Engineering at the Universitat de Lleida from 1992 to 1995. Joaquin then went on to achieve a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Universidad de León between 2000 and 2003, specializing in GIS, Remote Sensing, and Forestry. Later, in 2006-2007, they enrolled in the ESCP Business School and obtained a Master's degree in Executive MBA.
