Derek Russell

Derek Russell serves as the Director of Sustainability, Innovation and Product Development at Techrete UK & Ireland since April 2018, focusing on developing lower carbon and high performance concrete as well as architectural precast concrete products. Prior to this, Derek held various roles at RPS Engineering from March 2002 to March 2018, including Technical Director for Ports & Harbours, where management of a team of engineers and technicians on diverse port projects was a primary responsibility. Derek's experience also includes senior associate roles on maritime and structural projects, emphasizing technical design and supervision. Educationally, Derek holds a BEng Honors and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Queen's University Belfast, completed in 1999, with a concentration in Structural Materials Research.
