David Lacklen

David Lacklen is a seasoned professional in the areas of energy, technology, and investment. Currently serving as a Partner at Climate Capital since December 2023, Lacklen is also a Founding Partner at Seed9, which focuses on investing in transformative startups in emerging markets. Lacklen has extensive experience as a mentor with Techstars across various accelerators and previously held significant roles at YouTube, including Head of Product for Google Preferred & Premium Video in the Middle East and Emerging Markets. Lacklen's career began at Google with several account management positions, followed by an engineering role at EMCOR Energy Services and an early research position at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Educationally, Lacklen is pursuing a Master of Science in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a business minor from Tulane University. Additionally, Lacklen completed a fellowship in Climate Tech for VCs through Terra.do in 2022.
