Kara Alter is a seasoned marketing and community development professional with extensive experience in brand strategy and innovation. Currently serving as the Head of Marketing & Community at SE Ventures and working in Portfolio Marketing at Schneider Electric since March 2023, Kara's focus lies in enhancing the global brand and founder community, along with showcasing portfolio startups. With roots in mentoring startup founders at Techstars and holding previous roles as a board member and co-founder of Alegría Village, a regenerative real estate project in Costa Rica, Kara has a strong track record in achieving remarkable sales outcomes and community engagement. Previously, roles included Global Director of Brand Strategy & Community at Conscious Capital® and Head of Brand Marketing & User Acquisition at Shimmur (now Community.com). Kara's diverse background spans multiple industries and client types, contributing to an impressive portfolio that includes collaborations with major corporations and startups alike. Education credentials include a B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern California and additional studies at the University of Canterbury.
