Giles Hartwright

Giles Hartwright currently serves as the Chair of the techUK Central Government Council and holds the position of Associate Partner at IBM. Prior experience includes roles in the Cabinet Office as Interim Government Chief Technology Officer and Director of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, focusing on cloud, legacy systems, interoperability, and enterprise architecture. Giles led the xGov IT Interoperability Programme and held various leadership positions in digital delivery and portfolio management within the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Earlier career experience encompasses project management at Transport for London, consultancy with Arcadis, and a commissioned officer role in the British Army with extensive training in command and leadership. Education includes an MBA in Strategy and Leadership from the University of Exeter Business School and a BA in Hispanic and Latin American Studies from Queen Mary University of London. Recent studies were completed at Harvard Business School in 2023.
