Stephen Potter

Stephen Potter has extensive work experience in the mining and technology industries. Stephen is currently the CEO of Tecnored Desenvolvimento Tecnológico S.A. and has been the Chairman of the Board since September 2013. Prior to that, they served as a Board Member at the same company from December 2011 to September 2013.

Before joining Tecnored, Potter worked for Vale, a mining company, where they held various roles. Stephen served as a Senior Advisor Decarbonization since June 2018 and as the Global Director of Strategy from October 2012 to June 2018. Stephen was also the Director of Marketing, Iron Ore & Coal (Integrated Planning & Technology Devt) from July 2010 to October 2012 and the Director of Planning & Development, Iron Ore from July 2009 to April 2011.

Potter's previous experience includes serving as the VP of Planning & Studies at Minera Escondida Limitada from March 2008 to November 2009, the VP of Operations and Development at Rio Tinto Brasil from August 2001 to March 2008, and the Manager of Mine Planning at Hamersley Iron from September 1998 to June 2001. Stephen also worked as the Superintendent of Improvement & Mine Systems at Rio Tinto Coal Australia from December 1996 to September 1998 and as a Drill & Blast Supervisor/Short-term Planner at Argyle Diamonds from January 1995 to December 1996.

Potter began their career as a Graduate at Rio Tinto Consultants in Bristol, UK from September 1993 to December 1994. Overall, Potter has a diverse range of experience in leadership, strategy, planning, and operations within the mining and technology sectors.

Stephen Potter attended Imperial College London from 1989 to 1993, pursuing a field of study in Mining Engineering.
