Patrick Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Patrick began their career in 2006 as a Satellite Engineer in the United States Air Force, where they led the government engineering branch for the satellite development division. Patrick'sresponsibilities included managing communication trade studies and satellite risk management. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of R&D Budget Analyst, where they developed the Air Force's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation annual budget valued at over $5 billion. Patrick also prepared annual presentations for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense and managed the development of over 20 congressionally-mandated acquisition reports for the Air Force. In 2014, Hernandez became the Space Fence Operations Center Development Team Lead, overseeing the $70 million Space Fence Radar Operations Center project. Patrick delivered government-furnished real property to the contractor and led a facility modification contract. In 2018, they joined Tecolote Research as a Program Manager.

Patrick Hernandez earned their Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Arizona, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Patrick continued their education at the University of La Verne from 2002 to 2005, graduating with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Organizational Leadership.
