Gary Evans

Gary Evans is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in entrepreneurship development and innovation management. Currently serving as an Advisor at TEDCO and Chairman of The Launch Place since July 2020, Evans focuses on supporting emerging entrepreneurs in Southern Virginia and the Research Triangle in North Carolina. As President of the Center for Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship and CEO of Axcel Innovation, Evans specializes in consulting and managing projects related to knowledge-based industry development and infrastructure. Previous leadership roles include Executive Director of the Maryland Defense Technology Commercialization Center and board member positions at Stafford Research and Technology Park and Accelerate DC Venture Mentoring Service. Evans has also contributed to academia as a visiting professor at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and a Diploma in Management.
