Michael Beder serves as Associate General Counsel at TEGNA and teaches as a Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School, focusing on Scholarly Writing for law students. Previously, Michael held the position of Associate at Covington & Burling, contributing to the Communications & Media and Global Privacy & Data Security practice groups. Early career experience includes a summer law internship at the U.S. Department of Justice and a summer associate role at Covington & Burling. Additionally, Michael worked as a Publications Fellow at the Student Press Law Center, managing news operations, and gained experience as a copy editing intern at the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Michael earned a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and holds dual Bachelor of Science in Journalism degrees from Northwestern University.
