Tekura is a design hub that specializes in the design and manufacture of contemporary African furniture and
decor. Drawing our inspiration from the many beautiful stories from Africa, we produce a range of accent
tables, contemporary and traditional stools as well as complementary pieces like bowls, candle holders, etc.
They reflect true craftsmanship and are inspired by African artistry.
The Tekura story was birthed from founder Josephine Forson’s passion for things made by hand, in the year
2000 with just two artisans. She partnered with her husband Kweku Forson and nearly 25 years later Tekura
is a household name and a rising global brand. We have showcased our unique products worldwide and have
successfully exported them to various regions in Africa, Europe, and the United States.
Tekura, a 2nd generation family business located in Accra has a minimum production capacity of 10,000
units per annum with a team of about 60 master artisans at its factory.
Tekura, led by Audrey Forson is committed to sustainability, particularly in sourcing wood from
reforestation initiatives and using recycled wood in our production. Through a long-standing partnership with
the Forestry Commission of Ghana, we serve as waste collectors in the forest ecosystem thereby using waste
wood from various plantations under strict supervision of the Commission for our production.
Our core values; of Sustainable, Handmade, and Design symbolize our commitment to the preservation of the
natural environment and our rich cultural heritage.
We prioritize a human touch and place a high value on handmade approaches such as wood carving which is an
Indigenous artisanal skills are used in our production process.
