Alan Clark has a diverse work experience, starting in 1980 as a Hardware/Firmware Developer at Marconi Radar Systems where they contributed to the development of embedded firmware for radar countermeasures. Alan then moved on to British Telecom in 1986 as a System Architect, leading the initial architecture team for the BT Concert management framework. At Dowty from 1989 to 1992, they held the position of Director of Research and Strategy, where they initiated and led the development of a new Voice over Frame Relay switch and managed various teams involved in research, marketing, and business development. Clark then joined Cray Communications in 1992 as the Director of Research and Strategy before moving to Hayes Microcomputer Products in 1993 as the Chief Technical Officer/VP Technology. During their time at Hayes, Clark co-founded the Simultaneous Voice/Data Forum and led the company's ADSL and Cable Modem activities. Finally, in 1999, they founded Telchemy, where they served as the Founder and CEO, pioneering performance management architecture for VoIP services and developing new IoT analytics technology.
Alan Clark completed their BSc (First Class Honors) degree in Electronics from De Montfort University from 1979 to 1983. Alan then pursued a Ph.D. in Information Theory from the same university, completing it from 1983 to 1986.
