Janis Benefelds serves as the Head of IT for Tele2 in the Baltic region since March 2023. Prior to this role, Janis held the position of Head of IT at SEB Life and Pensions Baltic from 2007 to March 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing the IT function for SEB's Life&IM business line and contributing to the branch's expansion in Ukraine. Janis's career at SEB banka Latvia spanned from 1997 to 2007, progressing from Deputy Head of IT to IT Project Manager and Software Engineering roles, with a key achievement being the successful migration to a centralized core system. Janis holds an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and a Master's degree with PhD studies in Computer Science from the University of Latvia, in addition to a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering from Latvijas Universitate.
