Marko Tikas is an experienced telecommunications professional with a Bachelor of Technology in Telecommunications Engineering from TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology. Currently serving as the Head of Transmission Networks Department at Tele2 since May 2013, Marko oversees the operations, planning, and maintenance of metro and long haul networks, while collaborating with sales and technical departments to define product solutions. Previous roles include Transmission Networks Engineer at Tele2, where Marko led significant projects such as the high-speed long haul transmission network from Helsinki to Frankfurt, and at Elisa, focusing on transitioning network services to fiber optics. Marko also has extensive experience managing teams, mentoring engineers, and evaluating new technologies, stemming from a foundation as the Head of the 24/7 Network Operation Center at Eesti Energia.
