Rom Clement

Co-Founder & CTO at Teleo

Rom Clement is the Co-Founder and CTO at Teleo. Prior to Teleo, Rom was the Head of hardware & Technology Strategist, Level 5 Engineering Center at Lyft from April 2017 to December 2019. During their time at Lyft, Rom was responsible for recruiting the first hardware executive to create the self-driving division, managing a team of up to 65 members, developing strategic partnerships with OEMs, building a multi-year technical roadmap, and leading the team in new product development and innovation. In addition, Rom also contributed to market analysis and the development of investment strategy. Outside of their work at Lyft, Rom also crafted a multi-day self-driving tech course for non-engineers and wrote Lyft’s Hardware Engineer pathway.

Rom Clement's educational career began with a baccalaureate in mathematics from Lycée des Francs Bourgeois. Rom continued their studies at Lycée Condorcet for math sup and then Lycée Jean Baptiste Say for Math Spé, PSI*. Clement completed their undergraduate studies with a master of science in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan. Rom then went on to earn a second master of science, this time in mechanical engineering, from Ecole centrale de Lyon.
