Simo Peltonen

Director, Corporate Marketing at Teleste

Simo Peltonen has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Simo started their career as a Ph.D. student at the University of Turku in 1995. After completing their studies, they worked as a Project Manager at the Agricultural Research Centre of Finland, where they managed GIS projects related to estimating erosion and nutrient load from cultivated fields to stream water.

In 1999, Simo joined Benefon Oyj as a GIS specialist and later took on roles as an Application Manager and Product Manager. Simo was responsible for product management and launch of Benefon Esc! GSM+GPS personal navigation phone, including product definition, marketing material production, pricing, and managing mobile network operator accreditations.

In 2002, Simo became the Director of Solutions and Services at Benefon Oyj, where they had business and management responsibilities in developing and marketing location-based services and solutions. Simo was also a part of the executive group at Benefon Oyj during this time.

In 2006, Simo joined Nordic ID as a Product Manager, where they were involved in product portfolio management, future product roadmap facilitation, and preparation of marketing plans and product argumentation.

Since 2008, Simo has been working at Teleste Corporation. Simo started as a Product Manager and later became a System Marketing Manager, responsible for video headend and access network products. In their current role as Director of Corporate Marketing, they focus on revenue growth, marketing communication concepts, brand building, and value-based marketing strategy development and implementation.

Overall, Simo Peltonen has a strong background in product management, marketing, and business development, with expertise in GIS and location-based services.

Simo Peltonen attended the University of Turku from 1989 to 1995, where they obtained their M.Sc. degree. During their time at the university, Simo focused on studying Geography, GIS, and economics.
