Ian Bailey

Chief Technology Officer at telicent

Ian Bailey has held various roles in the technology industry since 2004. Ian began as the Owner of Model Futures Ltd, then moved on to become the Research and Science Advisor for the UK government in 2014. That same year, they also took on the role of Member of the Board of Advisors and Chief Technology Officer at illumr, where they were responsible for realizing the product roadmap, building the engineering team, architecting the products and proving-out new data science prototypes. Ian also developed machine learning algorithms into user-facing analytical tools using a tech stack of Python, TensorFlow, nodeJS, Electron, Docker and AWS. In 2014, they also became the Interim Chief Technology Officer at Ascot Barclay Cyber Security Group, where they applied graph databases (RDF triplestores) and used Cray YARC graph appliance to run graph analytics over cyber event and log information with the aim of detecting events early and more reliably. In 2020, they joined Telicent as the Chief Technology Officer.

Ian Bailey completed a BEng in Special Engineering Programme from Brunel University & Henley Management College, followed by a PhD in Software Engineering from Brunel University London.
