Kaila received their PhD from the University of California, Riverside in 2015. Her dissertation research focused on identifying novel therapeutics for the treatment of chronic inflammatory disorders. Kaila then went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at UMC Utrecht in the Netherlands, where they explored the intestinal microbiome secretome to identify anti-inflammatory proteins.
In 2018, Kaila was a Visiting Scientist at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. The following year, they joined Vivtex as a Scientist working on pre-clinical drug development. In 2020, they became a Research Team Leader at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Kaila is currently a Principal Scientist at Telis Bioscience Inc., where they lead a team of scientists working on developing new treatments for inflammatory diseases.
Kaila Bennett has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. Kaila also has a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. Kaila Bennett is certified from the Red Cross Blood Services in Basic Life Support.
