Rob Frei

Rob Frei has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles throughout their career. Rob started their professional journey in the United States Navy as a Fire Control Technician, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of the MK 86 Weapons Control System. After leaving the Navy, Rob worked as a Weapons System Technician at Unisys, providing field troubleshooting expertise for various weapons control systems.

Moving on, Rob worked as the Director of Engineering at BriskHeat Corporation, managing a team responsible for sustaining engineering, R&D, and new product development. During this time, they oversaw the development of the ACR II system, a portable composite repair system for the USAF, and the creation of heating jackets for semiconductor process tooling.

Following their role at BriskHeat, Rob worked as an Engineering Manager at Omni Circuits, where they managed the engineering department's production schedule and insured on-time release of all engineering orders for printed circuit boards.

After their time at Omni Circuits, Rob became an Engineering Manager at Daniel Woodhead Company, where they built an innovative NPD team and motivated a cross-functional team of engineers to develop innovative products for both industry and the consumer marketplace.

Before their current position, Rob held various roles at SPX Transformer Solutions, including Mechanical Engineering Manager, IT Development Manager, and R&D Manager. As the Mechanical Engineering Manager, they led a team of mechanical designers and focused on continuous improvement in quality and automation to deliver highly optimized transformer designs for manufacturing. As the IT Development Manager, they developed applications to simplify employee access to data for faster business decisions. As the R&D Manager, Rob was responsible for the development of innovative technologies, including a superconducting transformer and a continuous variable series reactor.

Currently, Rob serves as the Director of Engineering at Telkonet Inc., where they lead the engineering team in developing and implementing projects.

Rob Frei attended West Virginia University from 1991 to 1993, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Their area of focus was Control Theory and Power.
