Alan Cui has worked in various roles in the tech industry since 2011. Alan began their career as a Product Manager at Baidu Inc. in 2011, where they were responsible for the content product, Baidu image app, and Baidu video app. In 2013, they moved to Wandou Labs as a Senior Product Manager and led the team to build a high-definition video content library and crawled 100,000 movies, TV series, animes, and various shows from several video platforms, with an average weekly video consumption of 1. In 2015, they co-founded and became the Head of Product at Happy Planet, providing 500 fun and short baby education videos with the community for parents. The company raised half a million dollars for the angel round in October 2015. In 2016, they joined Kuaishou Technology as the Head of Product Strategy, leading the product strategy team and managing billions of videos. Kuaishou/Kwai DAU increased dramatically from 30 million to 100 million. In 2017, they became the Deputy General Manager at JOYY Inc., exploring the short video community scenario in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Indonesia, and looking for opportunities in emerging markets. Ten months after the release, the product had 1 million DAU, 50% of new user day-1 retention, 30 minutes daily per user, and 40 daily video views per user. In 2019, they became the Co-founder & CEO of Emerging Vision, building a real-time engagement platform and marketplace to provide global users with mental and emotional support, leveraging technology and a worldwide expert network/community.
Alan Cui attended Anhui University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. Alan then attended Zhejiang University from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Master of Engineering in Computer Software Engineering. Most recently, in 2020, they attended the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business for Executive Education in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
