Isabel Hoffmann

Founder & CEO at TellSpec

Isabel Hoffmann is the founder and CEO of TellSpec. Isabel has a long history of working in the medical field, including a stint as the President of the Iberian, Angola, and Brazil Chapters of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. In their current role, they are responsible for the development and commercialization of a handheld spectrometer that can identify the chemical composition of food and provide allergy and nutrition information to consumers. Under their leadership, TellSpec has won numerous awards, including the Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Award and the National Institute of Standards and Technology Small Business Innovation Research Award. Isabel is a strong advocate for the use of technology to improve public health, and they are passionate about making their spectrometer available to as many people as possible.

Dr. Hoffmann completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in mathematics, followed by their Master's in Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. Finally, they obtained their Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Toronto.
