Gary Smith

Gary Smith has extensive experience in ICT security and operations, currently serving as a Technical Expert in Operations Security and Enablement at Telstra since June 2017. Prior to Telstra, Gary worked at Santos Ltd from August 1999 to July 2016, holding several key positions including ICT Security Analyst, where responsibilities included maintaining ICT security profiles, developing policies, and coordinating projects to improve security posture. Additional roles at Santos included ICT Consultant for Planning and Strategy, focusing on software technology deployment, and Desktop Systems Team Leader, managing a distributed computing support team. Gary also served as Distributed Computing Manager, delivering systems support while exceeding service level agreements. Academic qualifications include a Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Adelaide, obtained from 1995 to 1998.
