Chris Thierman

Sr Technology Architect

Chris Thierman is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in network architecture and deployment. Currently serving as a Senior Technology Architect at TELUS since 2001, Chris has contributed to OSS Network Core Architecture and the design and management of the National MPLS Network. Prior roles at TELUS include Planning Manager, instrumental in early IPTV planning and National IP Core deployment. Earlier career highlights include serving as Director of Networking at Yas Broadband Ventures, where Chris consulted on DOCSIS cable modem development, and positions at Shaw focused on broadband cable engineering and the deployment of Cable Modem Transport Systems. Chris also has a strong foundation in informatics, having directed the informational needs for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta and has a background in programming and network architecture from positions dating back to the late 1980s. Chris Thierman holds a degree from the University of Alberta.
