John K. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. John started their career as a Software Developer at OmniMark. John then worked as a Software Engineer at Alias, where they specialized in release engineering and installer technologies.
Following that, John joined the Shiatsu Society of Ontario, where they served as a member of the board of directors and webmaster. John was responsible for migrating domains and web hosting, integrating a WordPress-based news and events page, and implementing software for mass email communication.
John then worked as an Install Architect and Software Engineer on contract at Caustic Graphics Inc., primarily focusing on Windows installer development and building automation tools.
John later joined North Plains Systems as a DevOps Manager, where they were responsible for setting up and maintaining product development, build, and release infrastructure.
After that, John joined Lixar IT as a Senior DevOps Specialist, specializing in Azure Cloud Services, PowerShell automation, and multi-tier deployments.

John's most recent position was at Ratehub.ca, where they worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer. John'sresponsibilities included migrating services to the cloud, managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform, automating processes with GitHub Actions and Kubernetes operators, and mentoring a small team.
Currently, John is working as a Site Reliability Engineer at Tempo Software, starting in 2022.
John K. earned an Honours BSc. degree in Physics from Carleton University, which they attended from 1984 to 1989. John then pursued a Diploma in Shiatsu Therapy and Acupuncture from the Shiatsu School of Canada, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, John also obtained certifications in Learning Kubernetes and Learning Haskell Programming from LinkedIn in December 2018 and April 2018, respectively.
