Jan Ising

Lead Numerical Modeling Scientist at TempoQuest

Jan Ising is the Lead Numerical Modeling Scientist at TempoQuest. His expertise lies in Numerical Weather Predictions with the WRF model, fire weather and AceCAST model validation. He has a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a Master of Science in Physics with a focus on Atmospheric Science.

In his Master’s thesis he studied the Yarnell Hill Fire in Yarnell, Arizona in June 2013 in which he analyzed and discovered the importance of evaporative cooling, diurnal heating, and complex terrain in aiding fire development and modifying fire indices.

During his free time, Mr. Ising enjoys weather photography, hiking, and developing GIS applications towards Meteorology.
