Jin Xu

Jin Xu is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in data science and machine learning. Currently serving as Research Manager and Tech Lead for WeChat at Tencent since January 2018, Jin Xu oversees a team of over 20 members to ensure high data quality in search and top stories, focusing on content identification, anti-spamming, news clustering, and user profiling. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Data Scientist at Vulcan Inc., where Jin Xu applied deep learning platforms and CNN models, and as Senior Data Scientist at BehaviorMatrix, developing informative tagging systems for social media data. Jin Xu also held a postdoctoral position at the University of Pennsylvania, researching recommendation systems based on user-generated content, and began an academic career as a research assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology, contributing to significant projects in machine learning. Jin Xu holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology and Shandong University, respectively.
