Mitchell Block

Mitchell Block is an accomplished filmmaker and educator with extensive experience in documentary film production and consulting. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Beijing Film Academy and the Jon Anderson Chair at the University of Oregon, Block continues to create films and teach internationally. As President of Direct Cinema Ltd. and the Carrier Project, Block has been involved in numerous film and television projects, while also serving as Vice President Content for Raw Science TV, co-founding the Raw Science Film Festival. Block's career highlights include a membership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and significant contributions to the International Documentary Association. With advanced degrees in film and business from prestigious institutions, Block's expertise spans over four decades in the industry.
