Silas Yang

Silas Yang has extensive experience in various leadership and advisory roles, including serving as a Steward at The Hong Kong Jockey Club since September 2015, and holding a position as a Member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority since the same year. Yang is also an Independent Non-Executive Director at Tencent and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China since July and April 2016, respectively. In academia, Yang has been the Deputy Chairman and a Member of the Council at The Open University of Hong Kong since July 2015. Furthermore, Yang has been a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference since February 2013 and works as an International Senior Economic Consultant for the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government since March 2003. Additional commitments include being a Justice of the Peace for Hong Kong SAR, Vice Patron of The Community Chest of Hong Kong, and a Board Member and Audit Committee Chairman at Hang Seng Management College. Silas Yang holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science, awarded from 1975 to 1978.
