Matt Smith

Matt Smith is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the aerospace and engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Tendeg, LLC since May 2022, Matt previously held senior and mechanical engineering positions at Blue Canyon Technologies from June 2017 to April 2022. Early career involvement at LASP included an internship focusing on the development of the Compact Spectral Solar Irradiance Monitor and the CLARREO Pathfinder. Matt's engineering expertise was further honed during a stint at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), where collaboration on a radiation pressure sensor project took place. Additionally, contributions as a Structures Engineer for the Colorado Space Grant Consortium culminated in the successful launch of PolarCube, a 3U CubeSat for global temperature profiling in January 2021. Matt holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, completed in 2017 and 2016, respectively.
