Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas serves as Managing Director at Teneo since June 2021, providing expert advice to international clients on restructuring and the tax implications of transactions involving distressed businesses. Prior to Teneo, Gareth was a Director at Deloitte from February 2013 to May 2021, where responsibilities included diligence and structuring of M&A transactions and tax structuring for distressed real estate investments. Gareth's earlier career included a Senior Tax Manager role at PwC from September 1997 to January 2012, focusing on tax structuring to maximize value for creditors in UK business insolvencies, working on high-profile cases such as Lehman Brothers and Enron. Gareth holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, obtained between 1993 and 1997.
