John Cheek has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John currently holds the position of Vice President, Intellectual Property & Legal Operations, and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Tenneco Inc. John has also been involved in the academic field, serving as an MBA Program Guest Lecturer at the Kellogg School of Management. Furthermore, they have contributed their expertise as a board member and executive committee member on the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) and the IPO Education Foundation.

Apart from their professional endeavors, John has also been actively engaged in public service, serving as Vice President and Chair of the Governance Committee for Prairie State Legal Services Inc., a legal aid organization supporting the underprivileged in Illinois.

John also earned a JD from the University of Dayton School of Law, specializing in Law & Technology, from 1991 to 1994. In addition, they obtained an AB degree in Mathematics and Economics from Wabash College, completing their studies from 1987 to 1991. John also participated in an MBA International Exchange Program at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School.
