Crispin Velez Villazon has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Crispin started their career as a Support Engineer at Pacific Coal and then worked as a Systems Engineer at Minex CI. SA .CI, where they were involved in database design and network set up. Crispin then joined Social Trade Organization as a Field Engineer, focused on deploying electric infrastructure and designing AC and DC power systems.

After that, Crispin worked at Flowserve as a Process Engineer, responsible for quality project development and fulfillment. Crispin then founded Ingen Business Management, where they served as a Project Manager, providing front-end and project management services for major infrastructure projects.

Crispin then transitioned to Thomson Reuters as a Technical Account Manager, overseeing customers' technical needs and ensuring customer satisfaction. Crispin later joined Ricoh Latin America Inc as a Digital Transformation Leader/Architect, leading and implementing medium to complex projects in cloud, big data analytics, and machine learning/artificial intelligence.

In parallel, Crispin also took on roles outside of their full-time positions. Crispin served as the TensorFlow Community Lead at the TensorFlow User Group, where they worked on democratizing machine learning and AI across Latin America. Crispin also served as a Mentor at Endeavor, supporting and advising startups.

Crispin'smost recent role was at Google, where they held various positions. Crispin started as a Google Cloud Infrastructure, Data, and Machine Learning Technical Latam, supporting strategic customers and internal teams. Crispin then became a Mentor for Google for Startups, onboarding startups to the program and delivering technical reviews and talks. After that, they served as an Enterprise Hybrid/ML Engineer, helping customers understand the power of Google Cloud and demonstrating the business value of AI/ML solutions. Crispin'smost recent role at Google was a Senior Cloud AI Consultant, where they worked with customers and partners to scope, manage, and deliver implementations of cloud machine learning, AI, and data science solutions.

Currently, Crispin works at Google as the Cloud Vertex AI Lead, where they strategically influence product roadmap and development aligned with customers' ML/AI strategies and partners with Product & Engineering for Google's ML/AI platform enhancements.

Crispin Velez Villazon has a diverse education history. Crispin obtained a Diploma in Business Process Application Development from Bonita Certification Business, and also completed a Project Management Diploma under PMI from SGS in 2014. In 2015, they obtained ITIL® v3 certification from EXIN and PMP® Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute. Crispin continued their education by completing AWS Certified Solutions Architect training from Amazon Web Services in 2017. In 2019, they achieved the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification, as well as the Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification. Crispin then completed the End-to-End Machine Learning with TensorFlow on GCP course from Coursera. Moving forward to 2022, they added several certifications from Google Cloud, including Cloud Digital Leader, Professional Cloud Architect, and Professional Data Engineer. Most recently, in 2023, they obtained the Professional Machine Learning Engineer certification from Google Cloud. Crispin's formal education includes a degree in Electronic Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, completed between 2003 and 2009, and a Master's degree in International Business from Grenoble Ecole de Management, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Crispin also completed a program on Cloud & DevOps: continuous transformation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020, and studied Leadership Principles at Harvard Business School in 2020-2021, focusing on Business Administration and Management.
