Richard Petley

Richard (Rich) Petley is Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for Teradata. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s global sales strategy and commercial execution to accelerate growth, including partner alliances and revenue operations functions.

Rich previously served as Teradata’s EVP, Global Sales, following a progression of increasing senior sales leadership positions since joining the company in April 2022. Recognized as a collaborative leader, he has made significant contributions to the company’s ongoing business transformation and growth.

Rich brings more than 20 years of senior sales experience and inspirational leadership, and a consistent record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and outstanding results. Prior to joining Teradata, he was SVP, Western Europe, for Oracle Cloud, and Managing Director, Oracle UK. In these roles, he drove significant growth of Oracle’s cloud portfolio and external ecosystem. Prior to Oracle, Rich held sales leadership positions at IBM, with consistent success in growth areas of enterprise software, SaaS and AI.

Rich is a strong advocate for sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). He has been a board member of TechUK, sat on the Confederation of British Industry Technology Council, and has served on the Technology Strategy Group for the Prince's Trust. He holds an MBA from Henley Management College and a BA from the University of Leeds.
