Marc Johnson

Marc Johnson is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Terradepth since May 2022. In this role, they are responsible for solving technical and market challenges related to submarines, big data solutions, and microservices. Marc is also involved in the development of the Absolute Ocean Geospatial Visualization Software.

Prior to their current role, Marc was the Founder and Principal Software Engineer at Uncommon Union Labs starting from March 2009. At Uncommon Union Labs, they emphasized community and research in the development and support of technology.

From February 2016 to May 2017, Marc worked as the Founder and Software Engineer/Architect at Rambl. During this time, they collaborated with organizations like Google, Harvard, Facebook, and Microsoft on projects involving deep learning, AI, NLP, and machine learning.

Before that, Marc served as the Director of Product at Code42 from August 2012 to October 2015. Marc's earlier roles include being the Director of Software Development at Metrotrak from April 1998 to June 2000, and a Senior Systems Engineer at Target Corporation from February 1996 to April 1998.

Marc Johnson has a diverse education history, with a strong emphasis on computer science and business. Marc obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Bethel University, specializing in Physics and Computer Science, and also earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology. Following their undergraduate studies, Marc pursued further education at the University of Minnesota, where they completed PhD coursework in Computer Science from 2016 to 2019. Subsequently, they attended the University of Minnesota again, this time earning a Master's degree in Software Engineering from 2010 to 2012. More recently, Marc enrolled at the Quantic School of Business and Technology and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, expected to be completed in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Product Management and Marketing from the Pragmatic Institute, although specific details regarding the timeline of this certification were not provided.
