Ashraf Alfandi

Principal Engineer

Ashraf Alfandi, PhD, is a Principal Engineer with over 13 years of experience in nuclear engineering, specializing in experimental thermal-hydraulics, reactor safety analysis, and computational modeling. Currently leading advanced thermal-hydraulic analyses for TerraPower's Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE), Ashraf develops high-fidelity computational models and designs experiments to bolster the MCRE safety case. Previously, Ashraf contributed to the design, construction, and commissioning of Jordan's first nuclear reactor as a Nuclear Design Engineer and has held positions with both the Zachry Group and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Ashraf earned a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University, following a Master's degree in Advanced Nuclear Systems Engineering from the University of Science and Technology in Korea.
