Gary Chou

Gary Chou is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in design, project management, and software administration. Currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at TerraPower since July 2023, Gary specializes in software testing and user interface improvements for in-house PLM systems. As the owner of Birchworks Design, a CNC woodworking and design business since August 2021, Gary manages custom projects. Previously, Gary held various roles at e-MSion, Inc. from December 2018 to July 2021, including Project Manager, PDM Administrator, and Design Engineer, focusing on product release coordination and CAD file management. Earlier career highlights include being a Mechanical Engineer at NuScale Power, where stress analysis for small modular reactors was performed, and at Westinghouse Electric Company, where project leadership on nuclear power plant piping components was demonstrated. Gary earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2008.
