Matt Smith

Matt Smith has extensive experience in operations training and reactor operation within the nuclear industry. Smith started as a RE Division Officer in the U.S. Navy from 1994 to 1996 and progressed to serve as a Senior Reactor Operator at Exelon Nuclear from 2003 to 2010. Following this, Smith held multiple roles as a Senior Operations Training Instructor at Exelon, Idaho National Laboratory, SCANA Corporation, and DTE Energy, focusing on training and certification for reactor operators. Smith currently serves as an Operations Training Instructor at TerraPower since September 2024. Additionally, Smith held the position of Senior Reactor Operator 4 at NuScale Power from October 2020 to July 2024. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology between 1985 and 1989.
