Principal Engineer, MCRE Reactor Core System Design Lead at TerraPower

Sam Goodrich has a diverse work experience in various roles related to engineering and research. Most recently, Sam worked at TerraPower LLC as the Principal Engineer and MCRE Reactor Core System Design Lead. Prior to that, Sam was a Nuclear Engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory - PNNL. Sam also has experience working at TerraPower LLC as an MCFR Thermal Hydraulic Consultant and Consultant. Earlier in Sam's career, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, a Chemical Engineering Intern at TerraPower, an Intern at Idaho National Laboratory, an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Brigham Young University, and an Intern at IdaTech. Sam's work involved projects such as reactor core system design, nuclear engineering, thermal hydraulic consulting, laser imaging, energy system development, combustion studies, fuel reprocessing, and fuel cell technology.

Sam Goodrich has a strong educational background in engineering. Sam obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 2010. Later, Sam pursued further education at Oregon State University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nuclear Engineering from 2011 to 2013. Continuing their academic journey, Sam completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nuclear Engineering at Oregon State University from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) from the NCEES in 2010.
