TerraSense is a conservation-led technology company developing ethical, off-grid tracking and connectivity systems for wildlife, reserves and field operations in remote environments.

Founded in 2024, TerraSense emerged from a simple but critical observation: many wildlife tracking solutions were not designed with animals in mind and often failed to deliver the quality of data conservation teams need. TerraSense was created with one guiding principle, greater insight with less impact.

Our technology is built around an animal-first design philosophy, prioritising minimal disturbance to wildlife whilst enabling conservation teams to gain meaningful operational insight. Learning early in the flied, supporting pangolin conservation in South Africa, helped shape this approach, reinforcing the importance of tracking systems that are both effective and ethical for animals and people alike.

Using the TerraSense low-power mesh networking and off-grid communications system, we operate independently of traditional infrastructure such as cellular networks, SIM cards, Wi-Fi or fixed connectivity. This enables reliable monitoring of wildlife, vehicles, rangers and remote assets across large landscapes where connectivity is limited or unavailable.

TerraSense technology is designed to support a range of environments and applications, including:

• Wildlife conservation and rehabilitation programmes
• Game reserves and national parks
• Farms and rural estates
• Field teams operating in remote or high-risk environments

By combining resilient connectivity with responsible tracking design, TerraSense helps organisations working in some of the world’s most challenging landscapes gain deeper insight while protecting the environments they operate within.
