Poorvi R. has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in the field of bioinformatics and computational modeling. Poorvi started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Furche Group, where they conducted research on random phase approximations methods and implemented parallelization in FORTRAN. Poorvi then worked as an Information Technology Help Desk Technician at the University of California, Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts.

Poorvi's interest in bioinformatics led their to work as a Bioinformatician at the University of California, San Francisco. In this role, they conducted sequencing alignment, data analysis, and data management for the Wang lab. Poorvi also collaborated with computational groups to create cell atlases of COVID and healthy human tissues.

Subsequently, they joined AtlasXomics Inc. as a Bioinformatics Scientist/Engineer.
