Layla Bakker is a multilingual EU qualified antitrust lawyer with a specialization in retail and distribution law, currently serving as the Group Head of Legal for Competition Law and Regulatory at Tesco Plc. Layla previously held various legal roles including positions at Eversheds Sutherland, Quinn Emanuel, and Bird & Bird, where expertise in competition law was developed. Layla started their career as a legal intern at the European Commission and contributed to MLex Market Insight as an Antitrust Research Consultant. Educated at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Layla earned both a Bachelor and Master of Laws with honors, alongside training as a mediator.
