Fernando Cancela

Fernando Cancela has had a long and successful career in the energy technology industry. Fernando began their career in 1996 as the Director of Zap Latin America. In 1998, they moved to ZAP as the Director of International Affairs. In 2008, they became the Founder and CEO of Green Ray LED Lighting, where they also served as Chairman of the Board. In 2015, they co-founded The Red Rhino Corporation and founded Teslights, where they currently serve as the Founder and CEO.

Fernando Cancela's education history includes a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Administration and Management, General and a BA in Economics from Universidad ORT Uruguay between 1992 and 1993. Fernando also obtained an ESL degree from Santa Rosa Junior College between 2002 and 2003. Fernando has obtained numerous certifications, including IES LM-79-08 from Bay Area Compliance Laboratory Corp. (Shenzhen) in 2016, Lighting Facts from US DOE in 2015, DLC from Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) in 2015, ISTMT from Bay Area Compliance Laboratory Corp. (Shenzhen) in 2015, IES LM-79-08 from Bay Area Compliance Laboratory Corp. (Shenzhen) in 2015, ISO 9002 from ISO International Organization for Standardization in 2013, and DLC from design lights consortium in 2013.
