Dr Christopher Dickson

Lead Software Engineer (image Analysis) at TestCard Ltd

Dr Christopher Dickson has extensive experience in software engineering, algorithms, and research. Dr Christopher began their career in 2007 as a Science Communicator at the Edinburgh International Science Festival. In 2010, they joined Heriot Watt University as a Research Engineer and also began working at Thales UK as an Algorithms Engineer. Dr Christopher'srole at Thales involved the design, development, and testing of image and signal processing algorithms using C++, Python, Matlab, and Simulink. Dr Christopher also assisted in planning and executing data gathering trials to evaluate algorithm performance. In 2022, they became the Lead Software Engineer (Algorithms) at TestCard.com.

Dr Christopher Dickson completed their MChemPhys degree in Chemical Physics from The University of Edinburgh between 2005 and 2010. Dr Christopher then completed their EngD in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University between 2010 and 2014. Dr Christopher has also completed courses from Udacity in Computer Science. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications, namely a STEM Ambassador 15 hours of engagement 2018/2019 from STEM Learning UK in January 2020, and a CPhys from the Institute of Physics in January 2019.
