Dee Kato is a seasoned geologist and hydrogeologist with over 20 years of combined industry and academic experience in hydrology and environmental geochemistry. Currently serving as a Geologist/Hydrogeologist V at Tetra Tech, Dee specializes in abandoned mine investigations and remediation support. Previously, Dee held positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma and an Associate Professor at Colorado Mountain College, where they managed the Timberline Analytical Laboratory. Dee's research centers on the interactions of natural organic matter with metals, as well as promoting representation of Native Americans in Geoscience. Dee holds a PhD in Environmental Geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines and advanced degrees in Geology from the University of Kansas.
