Barb Smith

Barb Smith has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their role as a Financial Analyst at Expert Insight LLC from 2006 to 2012. Barb then moved on to Jawfish Games Inc., where they served as Corporate Secretary from 2012 to 2014. After that, Barb was Chief Operating Officer and VP - Operations at Prompt.io from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, they joined Heritage Trust Company as Director. Lastly, they were a Partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP from 1996 to 2006, where they specialized in corporate & securities law, mergers & acquisitions, tax-driven financings & re-structurings and general commercial issues. Barb was also actively involved in recruiting, mentoring and the award-winning BLG Reads to Kids program.

Barb Smith obtained their Bachelor of Commerce degree from the UBC Sauder School of Business in 1993. Barb then went on to get their Bachelor of Laws degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 1996. In 1997, they were called to the British Columbia Bar. Barb Smith furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Laws degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 2020, specializing in Tax.
