Patrick Michels

Patrick Michels is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in journalism and education. Currently serving as a podcast producer at Texas Monthly since February 2021, Patrick previously worked as a reporter for Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting, covering significant topics such as criminal justice and education. Past roles include staff writer positions at The Texas Observer and the Dallas Observer, as well as web editor and teaching assistant positions at the University of Texas at Austin. Patrick's early career included public relations coordination and teaching middle school reading in Alaska. Patrick holds a Master’s degree in Photojournalism from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
