Clay Satterfield

VP, UX Design at Textio

Clay Satterfield is currently the VP of UX Design at Textio. Prior to that, they spent 15 years at Microsoft as a Principal User Experience Designer for Windows. During their time at Microsoft, Clay was influential in shaping the Windows 8 core user experience. Clay was also a pioneer in designing touch-first OSes that could support traditional and mobile apps using touch as the primary input. In addition, they led design explorations into common Windows UI that spanned phones, tablets, and desktops – resulting in many Windows 10 innovations. Clay has also been awarded several patents for their work in mobile productivity.

Clay Satterfield graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Clay then went on to study Theatrical Design at the University of Washington, but did not complete their Master of Fine Arts.

They are on a team with Stouffer Egan - CRO, Sandra Matus - VP, People, and Carolyn Duffy - CFO. Their manager is Kieran Snyder, Co-Founder & CEO.
