Robert Robinson has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Robert started their career at TransCanada, where they worked in Network Ops & IT Security from 2005 to 2006. Robert then moved on to Solace Systems, where they worked as a QA Engineer for a few months in 2006. In 2007, they gained experience as a Software Designer Co-op at International Datacasting, where they worked on designing and developing decapsulators and securing communication channels for satellite receivers. From 2008 to 2008, they interned at Qualcomm as a Software Engineering Intern, focusing on developing diagnostic utilities and testing sockets libraries. Robert also interned at Microsoft in the same year, where they worked as a Software Development Engineer Intern, improving the algorithm for locating domain controllers in an Active Directory environment.

In 2009, Robert joined Pravala Inc. as the Chief Technology Officer, where they played a key role in designing the architecture of Wi-Fi Access Manager and Application Control Engine products, implementing core features and managing a team of developers. Robert was also involved in business development and product sales. After their tenure at Pravala, they joined Zootly in 2015 as a Senior Software Developer.

Since 2016, Robert has been working at TextNow. Robert started as a Senior Software Developer and was soon promoted to Technical Team Lead in 2017. In 2019, they took on the role of Staff Software Developer and finally became a Principal Developer in February 2020.

Robert Robinson completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where they attended from 2004 to 2009. Later, they pursued a Master of Applied Science in Computer Engineering at the same university from 2009 to 2011.
