Zachary Tobin

Zachary Tobin, Ph.D, is a materials scientist and inorganic chemist, who graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry. Their dissertation focused on the fabrication and optimization of ceramic matrix composites, gaining extensive experience in both research and industry applications related to high-temperature materials. Currently, Zachary works as a Material Scientist Engineer IV at Textron Systems and previously held roles at GVD Corporation, Free Form Fibers LLC, and Collins Aerospace, where they specialized in coating technologies and the synthesis of composite materials. They also contributed to research at Union College and served as a research assistant at UConn, employing advanced techniques in electron microscopy and catalysis.
